Neun analoge Schwarzweiß-Photographien
Drei Reihen von Analogphotographien wurden umgedreht abgezogen, unter Vertauschung von links und rechts, als würde die abgebildete Stadtansicht “gespiegelt”. Wären die Dinge lebendig, dann würden sie sich so im Spiegel sehen. Wann immer wir einen Schnappschuss machen, einen Film drehen, ein Bild zeichnen oder malen, bearbeiten und konstruieren wir unser Bild, ob bewusst oder unbewusst, nach einer Komposition (dem Goldenen Schnitt, der Vogelperspektive, usw.). Oft ist die Komposition nach rechts ausgerichtet. Wird die Komposition umgedreht, wie in Erikssons Photographien, wirkt das Ergebnis seltsam. Die Photographie ist ein Medium, das Dinge nicht nur abbildet, sondern auch in sie eingreift und sie verändert.

Three sets of analogue black & white photographs
The photographs have been printed in reverse, inverting left and right, as if to “mirror” the depicted townscape. If objects were animated this is how they would see themselves mirrored. Whenever we take a snap shot, shoot a film, draw or paint a picture, we consciously or unconsciously edit and construct our image according to a composition (the golden section, bird-eye-view, etc.). Often the composition has a bias to the right, so when the composition is inverted, as in Eriksson’s photographs, the result is awkward. Photography is a medium that not only depicts objects but also interferes with and manipulates them.
